5 star review AND they forgot to give me tortillas and slice the steak for my fajitas.

It defies all reason, but you know why they get 5 stars? The food is just that darn good. I mean it.

I'm a cook, so in order for me to justify paying to dine out, it has to be a dish that I can't make as well or better at home. Fajitas is one of them. My husband wanted to treat me to Mexican last night, so La Fogata it was. I'd already gotten into my pjs for the evening, so we decided to have it delivered via Bite Squad. My standard order is steak fajitas, and my husband goes for fajita quesadillas 9 times out of 10.

So....La Fogata neglected to give me tortillas and my steak fajitas came as whole steak, and I had to slice it myself. I had tortillas, so I just warmed some up, but even if I didn't have tortillas I wouldn't have cared. I swear, this is the best Mexican food I've ever had. I can't impress upon you enough to try this place next time you go out for Mexican. El Porton, El Mezcal, Tekilas, Margaritas, My Favorite Place....they all taste the same. La Fogata has it on lock-down.

Great having options more than the standard generic Mexican food.  The mole was pretty good but what I really loved was the hot sauce.  When I asked for hot sauce I though the waitress would bring the standard bottle but instead she brought a small bowl of what is more like Columbia hot sauce and the flavor was excellent.  Guacamole was incredible as well.

Service was very good, quick and attentive. I will definitely go back to try more of their dishes.

I visited La Fogata with my husband for drinks a week ago and decided to come back on Labor Day to enjoy dinner. When we arrived, we were the only customers in the restaurant. I enjoyed a "Skinny" margarita on the rocks and loved the fact that it was served in a large glass.  I ordered the Margarita Special and my husband ordered the Molcajete Bowl. Talk about a huge portion - that bowl was full of EVERYTHING! He loved it and was actually able to finish most of it! The Margarita Special that I had was excellent. It included shrimp, chicken and steak. It was also a nice portion and if you enjoy chips and salsa beforehand, you won't come close to finishing this dish. Needless to say, we are thrilled to have this option in the neighborhood and will definitely be visiting on a regular basis. I highly recommend if you are in the Cordova area!

The first thing we noticed it was super clean.  At 2:16 pm on Friday we were their only customers.  We ordered pico and cheese dip up front.  The pico was freshly made and the small cheese dip was larger than I expected.  Cheese dip was a little thin but very tasty.  Chips are on thin side which we like and salsa was good - I would like a little more heat.

I got lunch chicken fajitas and it was served on a sizzling platter and was close to 5 stars good.  My wife had a beef taco and spinach enchilada - both were good and the taco was stuffed with meat (equal to 3 Taco Bell's).

I could not tell if the tortillas were made in house or not but they were very good.  Both of us noticed a spice in the beans - it was there in the background and added interest (maybe cinnamon or allspice).

They are serving beer and a sign boasts of a full bar.  I think the full bar is in the works.  Margarita machines were going when we left and more customers had come in.  Service was good and we were checked up on at regular intervals.

I would recommend paying them a visit - we will definitely be back.

This is by far is my new favorite Mexican restaurant!! They didn't just have the same basic design, menu, and drinks. The place may look small from the outside; however, they have a super cute outside area with cute neon lights. They also have the tables places just right where big parties can come in and not be directly on top of the booths! The drinks looked super good can't wait for a day I can come back and drink. They have a drink inside a real pineapple! Now getting to the food... while talking about the pineapples they have a WHOLE dinner inside a pineapple!!! My boyfriend ended up getting the steak rancherias (Which he loved and had enough to take some home). I got the special dinner which was HUGE. I obviously had PLENTY to take home (it's the dinner in the photo). Now getting to my favorite part... the staff!!!!! I had help the whole visit from both Rita and Miguel. They were both so very lovely!

    I will be back!!!!!! I love y'all!!!

Side note the large cheese dip is ONLY $6.99!!!!!
